We operate 9 routes using both school minibuses and a coach.
If you wish your child to use one of these services please contact Caroline Cartwright at school.
These routes are subject to change from time to time and often alter for the start of each academic year so it is important to contact school if your child’s place at Sibford is reliant on school transport being provided.
Ages you can ride the buses
Pupils in Year 3 and above may travel on our minibuses. Pupils in Year 5 and above may travel on coaches (SSB1 and SSB2).
Younger pupils may be able to travel on minibuses/coaches if accompanied by an older sibling in certain circumstances. We ask that you seek approval for this from the Head.
Buses arrive at school in the mornings at 8.30am and leave at the end of the school day at 4.30pm (minibuses leave at 4.25pm).
NOTE – Routes are planned and set in the summer holiday.
If you would like us to consider adding a new stop to any route please indicate on the return section of the letter sent out towards the end of the summer term. We will always try to accommodate suggestions, provided that they do not impact adversely with established routes. Additional pickup places can not usually be added once the school year has commenced due to the impact this would have on the pupils already travelling.
If pupils wish to take friends home with them using school transport, parents/guardians must inform school, preferably in writing, well in advance. We will generally accommodate any such request, though it is worth noting that some routes are fully subscribed and space is therefore not available.
Normal school rules apply whilst travelling on any school transport.
School transport is charged for on a ‘season ticket’ basis – there is no deduction made for absence due to illness etc. We can accommodate requests for single am or pm travel or travel on specific week days, but that must be a regular arrangement for each week of the term. This helps us to offer spare seats to other pupils and ensures that buses are not over full and also ensures that we know which pupils are travelling on any journey.
